Shri. Rajeev Sabade is a well-known journalist. He was worked as the Editor of Sakal, the leading newspaper from Pune. He has covered special news like terrorist activities in Punjab and Kashmir, students movements in Assam, Ramjanmabhoomi movement including demolition of Babri Masjid. He has been covering Loksabha and Vidhansabha Elections in Uttar Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Tamil Nadu, Haryana, Bihar and Madhya Pradesh since 1980. He has also covered various important events across the Globe.

He is an active member of Pune Shramik Patrakar Sangh. He is Trustee of Kunzru Centre for Defence & Strategic studies (Pune). He also is Member of Advisory Board – Top Management Consortium Pune and Editors Guild of India – New Delhi.

He is visiting faculty at Indian Institute of Mass Communication (I.I.M.C.) New Delhi, Makhanlal Chaturvedi University of Journalism & Mass Communication- Bhopal, Department of Communication and Journalism- Pune University & Intelligence Academy of Maharashtra Police, Pune. He is the Member of Task Force on Media Education by HR Ministry, Govt. of India and Committee for qualifications of journalists by Press Council of India.

Shri. Rajeev Sabade is active in various social organistions too. He is the Founder Trustee of Vighnaharta Nyas formed with the association of Police Commissioner for smooth and disciplined conduct of Ganesh Festival in Pune. He is trustee of Jadhav-Alegaonkar Trust which helps needy and deserving students.

He has been presented with many awards for is journalistic contribution among which is the Ramkrishna Jaidayal Harmony Award of Rs. One Lakh by Organisation of Unity & Fraternity, New Delhi for writing towards social and communal harmony. It was presented at the hands of Dalai Lama on 10 December 2003 & Research Fellowship of Rs.One Lakh by the Loksabha Secretariat for writing a monograph on 'The Role and Responsibility of Parliament in Nation Building' 2004. He was the Only Indian selected for Advance training programme in journalism by American Society of Newspaper Editors 1988. He has published various articles, news features and travelogues.
