Adv. Kokare has been the Director of the Cosmos Bank since 2005. He belongs to an agricultural family. He worked in the Agricultural department of State Govt. & after selection through MPSC, he worked as Gazetted Officer in Co-operative Dept. of Maharashtra Govt. & retired from the services in the year 2002 as Joint Registrar of Co-operative Societies. He worked as District Deputy Registrar of Co-operative Societies for Pune, Solapur & Kolhapur District, wherein cooperative movement is augmented. He worked as Joint Registrar of Co-operative Societies for Pune Division & worked as Joint Director of Sugar & Marketing. He also worked in Dairy Development, Handloom, Powerlooms & Co-operative Textiles Departments of State Govt.
He held the position of ‘Govt. nominee – Director’ on various Boards like District Central Co-op. Banks & Co-operative Spinning Mills. As an administrator, he also has an experience to run a co-operative sugar mill in Solapur district.
He was associated with various urban co-operative banks. Adv. Kokare was worked with Commissioner for co-operation, Shri. V. S. Gopalkrishnan. In this tenure of his service, he played a key role in pursuing the crucial issue ‘to delegate the powers u/s 101 of Maharashtra Co-operative Societies Act to the Urban Co-op. Banks’ Federation’. It was his structured efforts which proved very helpful for Urban Co-op. Banks in recovery process.
After retirement, he started practicing as advocate, especially in the area of Agricultural Market Act & Co-operative laws.
