1. When you visit this website, the Bank may collect personal information about you, either directly (where you are asked to provide the information) or indirectly. While information is the cornerstone of our ability to provide superior services, our most important asset is our customer's 'Trust'. The Bank will only use personal information in accordance with the purposes set forth in this Privacy Statement and is committed to safeguarding the personal information collected following strict standards of security and confidentiality.
2. We will limit the collection and use of customer's personal/ sensitive information to the minimum required to deliver superior services to our customers, which includes advising the Bank's customers about our products, services and other opportunities, and to administer our business.
3. The Bank agrees to safeguard and ensure the security of the information provided by the customer. The Bank uses 256-bit encryption, for the transmission of the information.
4. We will permit only authorised users, who are trained in proper handling of customer information, to have access to said information. Such users who violate the Bank’s Privacy Statement will be subject to our disciplinary action.
5. In order to maintain the security of our systems, protect our staff, record transactions, and, in certain circumstances, to prevent and detect crime or unauthorized activities, the Bank reserves the right to monitor all internet communications including web and email traffic into its domains.
6. The Bank respects the privacy of your personal information. Any personal information provided by you to the Bank through this website will be used solely for the purpose of providing you with the services you have requested at this website and for other related purposes including improving the design and marketing of our range of services and related products for customer use, updating and enhancing the Bank's records, development of web statistics, understanding your financial needs, advising you of other products and services which may be of interest to you and for fraud prevention purposes.

The customer authorizes the Bank to exchange, share, part with all information related to the details and transaction history of the customers to its financial institutions/ credit bureaus/ agencies/ participation in any telecommunication or electronic clearing network/ banking, credit cards, consumer finance, insurance and securities or as may be required by law, customary practice, credit reporting, statistical analysis and credit scoring, verification or risk management.
10. The Bank disclaims any liability for any damage or loss suffered by the customer as a result of sharing of information with any of the parties as mentioned above.
11. The customers shall not disclose to any other person, in any manner whatsoever, any information, relating to the Bank or its group companies, of a confidential nature obtained in the course of availing the services through the website. Failure to comply with this obligation shall be deemed a serious breach of the terms herein and shall entitle the Bank or its group companies to terminate the services, without prejudice to any damages, to which the customer may be entitled otherwise.
12. It is recommended that the customers necessarily choose their passwords carefully so that no unauthorized access is made by a third party. To make the password complex and difficult for others to guess, the customers should use combination of alphabets, numbers and special characters (e.g. !, @, #, $ etc.). Bank may collect, receive, possess, store, use, deal, handle, transfer, retain and otherwise process Customer information which may include Customer name, signature, email addresses, phone numbers, addresses, KYC/identity documents as may be prescribed by Regulatory Authorities from time to time (Biometric data (information such as your fingerprint, etc which you choose to provide to the Bank for authentication and fraud prevention purposes and the same will not be used without the user’s explicit consent.), communications with the Bank, device and location data (which includes information that may be collected by certain mobile applications which identify your physical location. This information may be collected from your mobile device’s location aware features when the user requests certain services that are dependent on your physical location, information about how you use our Services, financial information etc.
For the purpose of this Policy: “Digital Platform” shall include our mobile application i.e. COSMOS Internet Banking, COSMOS Mobile Banking app, applications through Bank’s or any merchant’s or TPAP’s channel or application, that the Bank as a PSP Bank received transaction data and POS devices or any other application, software, Payment Gateway, etc. which may be developed or hired by the bank from time to time.
3. Type of personal information collected and processed.
We collect information that is necessary to be able to properly identify customers, to understand their requirements, expectations, and instructions to provide those products or services. We, including our service providers, may monitor, record electronically, and retain telephone conversations and electronic communications between customers (including anyone acting on your behalf) and us. We have electronic surveillance systems like closed circuit TV and video recording of certain sensitive locations where your images may be captured.
Other Online Information We Collect and Use, such as:
Cookies: Cookies are pieces of data stored directly on the device/browser you are using when you visit our website. we may read cookies to collect information such as browser type, date and time spent on our website, and pages visited. Information collected through cookies may be used for security purposes, to facilitate navigation, to display information more effectively, to personalize and enrich your experience, to recognize your device, gather statistical information about the usage of the website, to monitor responses to our advertisements and to assist us with resolving website questions.

IP Address: Your IP Address is a number that is automatically and dynamically assigned to the device that you are using by your Internet Service Provider (ISP) or it is statically obtained by you. An IP Address is identified and logged automatically in our server log files whenever a user visits the website, along with the time of the visit and the page(s) that were visited. We use IP Addresses for keeping activity logs and having forensic capabilities if required for investigation purposes.
Details of device used for online banking: For secure online banking we provide you the facility of multifactor authentication. One of the factors can be the endpoint devices used by you to do the banking. For security reasons, we obtain the endpoint details to bind it to your account so that this endpoint device acts as a second factor.
Private Security Keys: For security reasons we may use PKI based authentication / digital certificate technologies. We may place a private key on your PC or mobile device to help us identify you or the device as belonging to you.
Biometrics: We may use some customer biometric information like fingerprint, facial, or eye biometric information or behavioural biometric like how you use keyboard, mouse, or move your finger on the screen etc.
We never ask for the information like passwords, PIN (Personal identification No.), OTP (One-time passwords), card numbers, CVV / CVC and expiry date from anyone. We advise all not to share this with anyone including Bank officials nor keep it in any readable form.
We advise you not to disclose the information about date of birth, Aadhaar No, driving license number, PAN, passport no, account number and balance, address to anyone without a valid reason and reasonable assurance that the information would not be misused.
Personal Data: Personal Data may be classified as Personal Data – personally identifiable information, Sensitive Personal Data or information and non-Personal information which is described as follows:
i. “Personal Data” – (Personally identifiable Information) refers to data that identifies (whether directly or indirectly) a particular individual, such as information you provide on our forms, surveys, online applications, or similar online fields. Examples may include your name, previous names, postal address, email address, telephone number, date of birth or account information.
ii. “Sensitive Personal Data or Information” – Information such as user’s occupation (whether self employed or employed by someone) and financial situation, name and address of the employer, the nature and volume of anticipated business dealings, with the conventional bank licensee, income proof, bank statements, income tax returns, salary slip, contract of employment, passbook, debit/credit card details, expenditures, assets and liabilities, source of wealth, signature, as well as other bank account details Sensitive Information also refers to the Financial information such as Bank account or debit card or other payment instrument details; passwords; Government issued Identification documents such as AADHAAR, Pan Number, Driving Licence etc.. Provided that, any information that is freely available or accessible in public domain or furnished under the Right to Information Act, 2005 or any other law for the time being in force shall not be regarded as sensitive personal data or information for these purposes.
Sensitive Personal Data such as gender, medical records, and history of the user; Personal Data that users provide to the Bank about others or others provide to the Bank about the user.
iii. Non-Personal Information – It is the information that cannot be used to identify the user such as the webpages that the user might have viewed and other usage patterns.
iv. Transaction Data – Data we collect when you make financial and non-financial transactions. Data may include information associated with the transaction such as amount sent or requested, amount paid for products or services, merchant information, including information about any funding instruments used to complete the transaction, Device Information, Technical Usage Data, and Geo location Information. Generation and storing user password/s or PIN in an encrypted format based on user request on our Digital Platform.
v. Device Information – Unique device identifier such as IMEI number, contact lists (in some cases), technical data about your computer and mobile device including details regarding IP address, applications, and usage details.
Use of our Digital Platform shall mean visiting a Digital Platform owned and /or controlled and/or operated by or for the Bank including to access your accounts, conduct online transactions, etc.; viewing or clicking on our advertisements, posts, on third party sites that redirect you to our Digital Platforms; interacting with us on third party sites, etc.
Subscription Management and Cancellation:
Upon subscribing to the Digital Products of Cosmos Cooperative Bank Ltd. the Customer hereby accepts the terms and conditions describing the products and in accordance thereto accepts the following:
i. Payments: In consideration of the Services and the usage of the Product, the Customer shall pay the fees as per the agreed terms and conditions as specified in the respective application form duly accepted by the Customer and notified to the Customer from time to time.
ii. Cancellation and refund requests: In the event, if the payment against Invoices has not been made by the Customer within the stipulated time, the services intended to be availed by the Customer shall be discontinued. All requests for cancellation of subscription and refund should be raised only via the customer support helpline provided. Cancellation and refund requests raised through any other mode of communication will not be considered for a refund.
The user authorizes the Bank to exchange, share, part with all information related to the details and transaction history of the users to its Affiliates / banks / financial institutions / credit bureaus / agencies / participation / service providers in any telecommunication or electronic clearing networks as may be required by law, customary practice, credit reporting, statistical analysis and credit scoring, verification or risk management and shall not hold Bank liable for use or disclosure of this information.

Opting out of Information Sharing:
You (a consumer, customer, account holder etc.) cannot opt out of all information sharing in all cases. You cannot opt out of information sharing with others where it is required to service you and your interest, market Bank’s service and products, market services and products of affiliated companies, protect against fraud, protect national interest, judicial or law enforcement orders and Govt. orders and such processes etc. Bank can stop sharing of your information with anyone to comply with orders of competent authorities, to protect its interest or the interest of its affiliate companies.
Terminated Relationships:
If your Bank account relationship is terminated, we will not share information we have collected about you, except as permitted or required by law. We will irretrievably destroy the information after the limitation period as mandated by law or court order.
